CONNECT INTERNET WITH BSNL 3G DATA CARD USING OTHER 2G OR 3G SIM CARD

Do you have a BSNL 3G data card and due to he huge budget of 3G , are you keeping the data card worth of nearly 2000 rupees as unused.

Are you planning to buy a data card and need to put different sim cards (both 2G and 3G). Here the article exclusively for you.

I directly illustrate the steps with some screen shots as usual :-)

Step 1: Put the sim card that you want to use for connecting internet into the BSNL data card. Your simcard may be 2G or 3G. It need not be BSNL. It may be aircel, airtel, docomo, reliance or any sim.

Step 2: Insert the data card in the USB port of your laptop.

Step 3 : Once you inserted your data card a window  will open. Here you have to choose "Run the Program " option

Step 4: After that a window as shown below will open. Your sim card will search for signal and you can view it in the bottom right .

Note : I used aircel sim. But it is showing airtel. I dont know why. :-) But this wont affect you in connecting internet. Dont worry and carry on to the next step.

Step 5 : Press settings icon (fourth icon from left) .
             Choose network mode as auto.
             Choose search network as automatic.
             Select connection profile
 Step 6: Create a new connection profile exactly as shown below. Profile name = aircel ; Dial = *99***1# ;
APN : aircel gprs ; Auth type : PAP/CHAP
          And Now click OK

Step 7: Press connect icon. (the globe icon at the top left corner) . Now you will connect to internet and a usage window as shown below will open.
This window indicates you connected successfully

That would be all. now you can open your favorite websites using your favorite browser. But don't think the speed will be faster enough as 3g. Since you are using 2G SIM, you will get only 2G speed. But if you use 3G sim card i assure, you will get good speed.

Happy Browsing

AIRCEL COMBO PACK POCKET INTERNET WITH FULL TALKTIME FOR RS 108

I wish to share the Aircel combo pack (Rs 108) which contains full talk time and pocket internet usage of 108 MB.

This pack is really a wonderful offering for those who are browsing internet in mobile phone.

Aircel is providing unlimited internet for 1 month if you recharged for 98 Rs. But in my opinion , this 108 Rs top-up is better than RC 98 (only for those who are browsing internet in mobile phone and not in laptop)

I will illustrate you that how top-up 108 is better. If you have a habit of browsing daily, a maximum of 3 to 3.5 MB    can be used in extreme. I am telling you this from my personal experience.

You cannot browse more than this 3.5 Mb in such a 2G speed that our mobile networks are providing. So for 30 days you can browse up to 3.5 x 30 = 105 Mb .

So if you recharged for RS 108 you can get full talk-time of 108 Rs and in addition you can get a free usage of 108 MB that is more than sufficient for mobile browsers for a month. So it is not necessary to recharge separately for Pocket internet.

And i wish to insist that this strategy will helpful for only those who are browsing in Handsets. If you are using laptop it can consume more data usage , so for laptop users it is better to go for RC 98.
For laptop users the article activate-pocket-internet-in-aircel will be useful.

CONNECT INTERNET IN LAPTOP THROUGH BLUETOOTH MOBILE PHONE

This article is specially for those guys who are not intersted in sticking to a particular USB datacard stick, and those who hesitates to buy a fixed modem like broadband for internet connectivity.

The way is simple and known to almost everyone. Yeah.. it is just to use your mobile phone to  connect intenet in your mobile phone.

The only thing is your mobile phone should have bluetooth feature..

Okay .. am moving on directly to the steps for connceting internet in your laptop.

Even though the steps are very simple , i wish to give you some screen shots that may be make this illustration littlebit more effective.

STEP 1 :  ACTIVATE ANY ONE OF POCKET INTERNET DATA PACK THAT IS PROVIDED BY YOUR NETWORK PROVIDER.

There is a reson for making this as step 1. Because if you try to connect internet without activating any intenet pack, then you have to be ready to loose your "talktime credits". So i advice you to better activate any one of the data pack that you need.

STEP 2: SWITCH ON BLUETOOTH ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE AS WELL AS ON YOUR LAPTOP.

STEP 3: IN YOUR MOBILE PHONE ; GOTO BLUETOOTH => PAIRED DEVICES =>OPTIONS =>PAIR NEW DEVICE

Now Your mobile phone will search for the bluetooth device around you including your LAPTOP

STEP 4: CHOOSE YOUR LAPTOP NAME IN THE LIST  OF DEVICES DISPLAYED IN YOUR LAPTOP AND GIVE A PASSCODE ...SAY 123

STEP 5: TYPE THE SAME PASSCODE IN YOUR LAPTOP TO ACCEPT THE PAIRING. NOW YOUR MOBILE PHONE NAME WILL BE DISPLAYED IN BLUETOOTH DEVICES FOLDER IN YOUR LAPTOP

Difference Between EDGE and GPRS technolgy

Many of us might notify the symbol E and sometimes G in the top corner of our mobile screen while we are connecting to the internet through our mobile phones.

This article aims to provide an idea about what these symbols mean and what is the difference in these symbols.

E denotes that the mobile network service provider is providing you the EDGE the G denotes that the network provider is providing GPRS technology .

EDGE  i.e Enhanced Data rate for GSM Evolution technology is a new technology that overcomes some of the drawbacks of GPRS General Pocket Radio Service

Well.. By what way EDGE technology is peculiar than the GPRS technology. The first thing is EDGE technology is slightly faster than the GPRS technology. You can browse in a speed of 50 to 60 Kb/s with EDGE technology but GPRS provides a maximum up to 15 kb/s rarely 20 Kb/s.

The second advantage is EDGE has a capacity to change the SIGNAL TOWER while you are in travelling. This feature is very much necessary in current situation as most of us having a habit of browsing while we are in travel.

And one more thing a same network provider can provide you both technologies EDGE and GPRS simultaneously. Nowadays every providers increase the range of providing EDGE technology but mostly  it is available only in urban areas.

So if you are under the coverage of EDGE technology your mobile will use EDGE and you can verify this by the symbol E that will be displayed and if there is no EDGE coverage your connectivity will automatically switch over GPRS network and you can easily recognize by sudden decrease of speed in the internet connectivity.

And do not assume that EDGE is a high speed network .. It depends on the signal (network coverage) you are getting and also depends upon the bandwidth that your service provider is providing.
